I hope everyone is off to a great start to the New Year! Somehow 2020 is already here and that kind of blows my mind a little bit. (Did anyone else think we’d have flying cars by now?) We got to kick off 2020 with a New Year’s Eve Wedding with Kiley and Jay and such a fun party at the Vault! From a classy color pallet of silver, gold and gray to a dance floor that was seriously FULL all night long; this one will definitely go down as a New Year’s Eve Wedding to remember!!
We got connected to these two through a couple we photographed last year! Megan, Omel, Kiley and Jay all went to UK together. The way that Jay and Kiley met was a constant theme throughout their wedding day toasts, and to hear it from Kiley’s perspective is so funny. From the bride: “I met him in my very first college class on the first day of our freshman year at the University of Kentucky. He sat down right next to me despite the many open seats in the large classroom and even walked with me back to our dorms in Blanding-Kirwin and talked the whole time- totally ignoring the many times I tried to put in headphones (the universal sign for don’t talk to me). He wore me down a little at a time and I actually missed having class with him every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the next semester. Luckily, he tracked me down at the dining hall and invited me to a party early on second semester. The rest is history, with all the ups and downs and funny/embarrassing moments that only college can bring. We broke up and got back together a few times but I finally “stopped kidding myself” as Jay put it back then, and have been together since our senior year. I would do it all over again in a second because I feel like I really grew up with Jay. I met him when I was barely 18 and now we are 26 and have such a strong foundation for the amazing life I know we’ll build together! Jay proposed with a gorgeous oval cut diamond in a halo setting with a very special detail; the side stones from his grandmother’s engagement ring.”
The day got started at the Renaissance Inn hotel, where everyone enjoyed being together and being right across the street from the main venue. One of my most favorite moments of this ENTIRE New Year’s Eve Wedding was Kiley’s first look with her dad. He mentioned later that her mom made him promise some good tears… but there’s not way you could have faked this genuine emotion. Everyone teared up and it was such a sweet, quiet moment before all the fun!
The Ceremony:
The ceremony was held at First Congregational Church in Columbus Ohio. Complete with a bag piper, the gorgeous music mixed with the architecture was really one of a kind! The guests were all decked out in their New Year’s Eve Wedding attire, and the glitz and glam only added to the beauty.
The Reception:
We ended the night at The Vault in downtown Columbus. From the balloon drop to the live band, champagne towers, endless amazing desserts and snacks and a dance floor that was full all night… this New Year’s Eve Wedding was a night to remember!
Thank you Kiley and Jay for such an incredible start to the New Year! This wedding was made possible by so many friends, family and an amazing vendor team. Shout outs to:
