A WINTER SOUTHERN INDIANA WEDDING AT St JOHN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN | KENTUCKY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

POSTED IN: Blog, Weddings

Happy New Year, friends!! Are you ready for a new Southern Indiana Wedding? Wow, I gotta say that we totally stunk at blogging the second half of last year. Between me being pregnant and feeling pretty puny the first few months, and it being one of our busiest fall wedding seasons ever, blogging just had to take a back seat.

I’m excited to say that we’re back and happy to share one of our last weddings of 2019!! A few days after Christmas, Josh and Jenna got married in Southern Indiana, and friends- let me just say- these two put Jesus first in every way possible. This Southern Indiana Wedding did our hearts SO much good and it was a joy to witness. Enjoy a few of our favorites from their day!

Jenna’s ring is extra special. The center stone is the diamond her dad gave to her mom. After he passed away, her mom kept it for her. Josh had the diamond reset so that even though her dad is gone, he could still be part of the celebration.

How they met, from Jenna’s view:

I knew who Josh was most of my life. I remember hearing about his accident and recovery as a kid but not really knowing much else about him. My step-father loved him and his entire family so I had a good impression of him but I never thought of him as a potential mate.

In the fall of 2018 Josh stopped by our booth at Harvest Homecoming. This wasn’t unusual – he had done this the previous 5 years as well. The difference was this time he stopped by probably 5 different times. Instead of his chat with Rich, he stayed and talked to me. I still didn’t think anything of it because Josh is a friendly guy. He came to church that Sunday and I remember seeing him worshipping and thinking to myself, “I want to marry a man who worships like that.” He approached me as soon as the service was over – that was my first clue. He asked me how old I was and then told me he was going to come back to the booth that afternoon. He not only came back by the booth, he stayed the entire day. Towards the end, he asked for my number – in front of my mom and niece! He knew what he was doing because he made it impossible for me to say no!

He continued that strategy when asking me to have dinner with him – he asked in front of my entire praise team! That man is smart! He knew how to get me to commit!

How they met, from Josh’s view:

I knew who Jenna was but for some reason I had always thought she was way too young for me. When I stopped to talk to Rich at Harvest Homecoming, I noticed Jenna and wanted to come back. I thought I was being cool about it but she later told me she notice that I came by so many times.

Rich invited me to church so I decided to go. I didn’t know that Jenna was the worship leader but after I saw her up there, I knew I wanted to know her more. I decided to see how old she was just to make sure I wasn’t robbing the cradle. She told me we were only 5 years apart and I knew I wanted to see where things could go – I just had to get her to give me a shot!

I told her I would come back down to Harvest but I didn’t know how I was going to get her number. Her family was with us the entire time but I knew I could use that to my advantage. I started by giving her my number, hoping that she would take the hint and give me hers. She didn’t. I decided to ask for her number right in front of them! Luckily she gave it to me!

The ceremony we got to witness was extra special with a sweet time of heartfelt worship at the end. What a special time of year to pause and celebrate all that God has done in 2019 and all that He will do in 2020!

This Southern Indiana Wedding continued at the Calumet Club down the street. There we had a sweet reception, complete with chocolate milk toasts and a cookie bar! This pregnant photographer was one HAPPY lady! 😉

Jenna and Josh, thank you for such an incredible day! Congratulations!! Praying for a lifetime of putting Jesus first in your marriage.
