When I moved to Kentucky all the way from California years ago, I remember thinking how green and lush everything was! Our state is just beautiful! Jacquelyn and Michael chose the charm of a lovely bed and breakfast, Bluegrass Country Estate in LaGrange, to host their wedding. The rolling hills, horses, and gorgeous day (despite the heat) proved to be just as gorgeous as we had hoped!
Jacquelyn and Michael met for the first time while out with a group of friends, and to hear them share about that first night is pretty hilarious! She was there to meet her cousin, and didn’t really pay much attention to Michael. After a whole night hanging out, Jacquelyn got back to the house, noticed a Facebook friend request and thought, “Who’s Michael Simon?” Haha! Good thing Michael noticed her. 😉 9 years later, here they are, MARRIED and starting their life in Murray Kentucky.
Enjoy a few of our favorite below from their gorgeous day in June!
One of my favorite bridal details of the day, was this sweet Tiffany’s necklace that Jacquelyn wore. This aquamarine necklace, the brides birthstone, was purchased by Paula, a dear friend and sorority sister. When Jacquelyn was 17 and went to NYC for the first time with her mom, they went to Tiffany’s on 5th Ave. After they began looking at prices, they realized they’d rather spend the money experiencing NYC together than on a necklace, and even those her mom was a little disappointed, they had a wonderful time. Since that sweet trip together, Jacquelyn’s mother has passed away and was not able to be with us physically…. Paula purchased this necklace in her memory, and Jacquelyn wore it close to her heart. I know it will be a keepsake for years to come!
Jacquelyn’s sweet aunt’s played such beautiful roles throughout the day! And I may have teared up just a little when all of her bridesmaids saw her below!!
Do you all see this sweet tear on Michael’s cheek? I don’t think there was a dry eye outside… I asked him what he was feeling and as he gazed at Jacquelyn he said, “I can’t believe the day is finally here. I get to marry you!!”
Shout out to this amazing wedding party! It was HOT you all. Like heat index over 100 kind of hot and humid, and these guys were champs!! We made it short and sweet to keep them cool, but still had a great time!
Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church, was a lovely venue and I was so thankful to be at an indoor ceremony, if I’m totally being honest! haha 🙂
My second favorite portrait time after a first look is right after the ceremony!! Those just married jitters just melt away and is replaced with pure excitement! Saint Albert proved to be a gorgeous ceremony location too!
This was a first for us!! Isn’t it awesome?! This caricature artist came all the way from Nashville and was the hit of the party!
Huge thank you to the amazing vendor team!!

So sorry to hear about the brides mother, but what a lovely tribute. It is such a sweet way to show respect to her memory with the necklace close to her heart.

This is amazingly beautiful. I’ve been to Kentucky once m and fell in love. In Oregon we have lots of green. But Kentucky has that minty blue grass color and I fell in love. This venue is gorgeous too, bed and breakfasts are my absolute favorite. They’re very special!
