I just LOVE this Backyard Engagement Session! Can I just give all the guys out there who don’t love getting pictures taken a huge shout out? You’re the real MVPS!!! (I’m looking at you Hunter! You’re awesome!) “What if my guy doesn’t love getting his picture taken?” It’s actually one of the most common questions I get as a wedding photographer. Maybe they’re nervous or feel awkward, or had a bad previous experience… but honestly, I kind of love it. Why? Well, it means I get to show them that sessions really can be fun! My goal is to always get my clients relaxed and being their genuine selves, and honestly I find that our playful style works well for everyone. Taylor and Hunter were no different! We got to explore a gorgeous private home in Louisville, Kentucky (shout out to Taylor’s BFF and her amazing parents) and it proved to be the perfect place for this summer backyard engagement session!
Taylor and Hunter met in college at the University of Kentucky. 3 years in and they both says it’s one of the best decisions they made! He’s a mechanical engineer and she’s a pediatric Nurse at Norton Children’s. My mama heart just loved to hear about the way Taylor cares for others! Hunter proposed in front of all their family and friends at what was supposed to be a surprise birthday party for him, but in return he surprised Taylor and all the guests with a proposal! My little photographer heart just loved hearing about that kind of selfless and fun proposal!!
I got the chance to meet these two at the amazing How Charming Wedding Event hosted by Kentucky Bride Magazine, and they were one of our 5 winners out of several hundred participants! They already have another amazing photographer lined up for their wedding, and I am already booked for their wedding weekend next June, but I still wanted to honor their prize and have some fun! It was such a pleasure getting a little peek into your story, you guys! Paul and I wish you nothing but happiness and an amazing marriage after your celebration!! OBIC, Taylor!
