We’re only three days away from celebrating the wedding of Alexi and Aaron!! We’re throwing it back to their downtown Louisville engagement session at Big Four Bridge. Their love story is extra special and to say these two have the ‘real deal’ is an understatement. After their first two years of dating, Aaron actually moved to Japan for an opportunity to play football. They’ve managed a 13 hour time difference while dating, and I’m pretty positive they’re excited about being in the same timezone for a while.

When it was time for these two to get engaged, Aaron was in town from Japan. The second day he was in town, he met with Alexi’s parents and asked for their blessing. Alexi took a day off of work to take a short road trip to Nashville with Aaron and their best friends. However, that was the same weekend that the snow storm hit Louisville last year, so plans changed. Alexi was oblivious to all the plans, so when things had to change, she  jumped her friend’s car on a snowy Friday morning and listened as Janell explained that she and Matt had planned a huge scavenger hunt for them around Louisville. They spent the day driving around town, eating, shopping, etc. For the last clue, Janell told them that she had to blindfold both of them. They blindfolded Alexi first and then supposedly blindfolded Aaron, but of course they didn’t. Alexi shares, “Next thing I know, we are parked somewhere, and Matt gets Aaron out of the car first to do something. I am sitting in the car with my best friend, and starting to get a little nervous (ok- a lot nervous). I cannot even remember how many times I said, “Janell! Is this it?!” She, every time, calmly said, “No Lex- just calm down.” She later apologized for lying haha. Janell got out and helped me out of the car, still blindfolded. She walked with me, placed me, and then walked away. I was so confused until I heard Aaron. With my blindfold on, he was telling me how much he loved me, how I’ve changed his life, and how he can’t imaging life without me. He then told me to take off my blindfold, and when I did, I saw him on one knee- easiest decision I’ve ever made!”

We had such a blast exploring Louisville and the walking bridge with these two! We can’t wait to celebrate this weekend and meet all of their friends and family. Alexi’s had a count down the last 10 days, so here’s to day THREE Lexi girl!!! See you soon!
