That’s right you guys! Did you know we have a Castle in Kentucky? Ok, ok, it’s not like the vistas I saw when touring France, but it is a fun place for a gorgeous date night and a bit of Lexington, Kentucky lore. Driving through the hills of the bluegrass, I passed Castle Post as a kid and just dreamed about what must have gone on inside those gates. Returning as an adult, and celebrating the engagement of Ashlee and Michael, was the perfect compliment to the princess day dreams of childhood!
Paul and I had the pleasure of meeting Ashlee and Michael at the Kentucky Bride Magazine’s How Charming Bridal Event in Louisville this spring! We were so bummed to already be booked for their wedding day, but thrilled at the chance to shoot an engagement session for them! We started the day in Gratz Park in Lexington, Ky.
Castle Post is a special place for these two, because it’s where they got engaged! On the rooftop after dinner, just like the start of any good fairy tale wedding. It was lovely to be able to go back and explore the grounds with them!

WOW, these are so lovely! I have never been to Kentucky and wouldn’t associate a castle with it. It’s great you have this type of venue for any type of session to give people variety also it’s kind of nice that they chose a venue (that happens to be pretty) but personal to them both.
